2022 - Chartreuse Jaune

Created in 1840, this yellow liqueur was inspired by the Élixir Végétal recipe. It was so popular that Père Garnier, the public prosecutor in charge of liqueurs at the time, decided to officially name it Chartreuse Jaune, and registered the "Chartreuse" trademark in 1852. This 43° liqueur is still produced today by the Carthusian Fathers.

Composition
Alcohol, sugar, water, plant substances (130 plants, flowers, barks, roots and spices).

Chartreuse Jaune is characterized by its sweetness, spicy fragrances and natural color, derived from 130 plants, flowers, barks, roots and spices.

Its production is quite different from that of Chartreuse Verte, requiring several weeks' work in various stages:
- Maturation by the monks in the plant room at the Grande Chartreuse monastery.
- Distillation to obtain the aroma.
- Different types of maceration to extract the plants' active ingredients and give the liqueur its natural color.
It is then aged for a long time in oak casks before being bottled, and continues to evolve and develop its complexity in the bottle.

Intense yellow color, fresh, spicy nose.
A mellow structure.
Scents of turmeric, citrus and anise.
Floral notes prolong the tasting experience.

As a digestive, to discover all its flavors and aromatic power. Ideally served chilled between 12° and 13° or on the rocks.
Also used as a cocktail ingredient since the 19th century, it adds subtlety and sweetness.
