This liqueur owes its origins to Père KERMANN, a medical monk who went to Brazil at the beginning of the reign of Louis XVI...

Very attached to the country and its inhabitants, he developed various elixirs based on local plants to combat fevers, and used alcohol to preserve these infusions. Returning to France after the revolution, he settled in Bordeaux and began producing elixirs and fortifying wines, which he distributed free of charge to his numerous patients. Father KERMANN died at the age of 101, leaving his business to his Bordeaux friend, Monsieur SIEUZAC, whom he had met in Brazil. Mr. SIEUZAC joined forces with Mr. François CAZANOVE, of Catalan origin, who gave the distillery a new lease of life by marketing the elixirs he had increased their alcoholic strength to improve flavor and preservation.

The distillery was sold in 1983.
